The hydroelastic wave problem describes the interaction between elastic structures and hydrodynamic excitation. In the first part of the talk, I will talk about the exact controllability of two-dimensional hydroelastic waves in the periodic setting. We show that if the initial data and the final data are small, for exterior pressure whose support is any non-empty open set $\omega$, the two-dimensional hydroelastic wave system is exactly controllable in arbitrary short time. In the second part of the talk, I will talk about the stabilization result of the two-dimensional hydroelastic waves.
We show that if the pressure is given by the time derivative of the free surface multiplied by some non-negative weight function, then the total energy of the fluid decays to zero exponentially in time. This is based on the joint works with Jiaqi Yang.
