Abstract: We show that if a homomorphism between two chain complexes of free abelian groups $K$ and $L$ becomes a quasi-isomorphism after tensoring any finite abelian group, and if the homology groups of $L$ are finitely generated, then the homology groups of $K$ have relatively simple structures. As an application, we obtain a structure theorem for the Suslin homology of complex varieties.
