Abstract: Let F be the finite field with q elements. If G is a reductive algebraic group over the algebraic closure of a finite field F, endowed with an F-structure, we are interested in the subgroup of the points defined over F. In this talk, I shall introduce some fundamental results about F-structures on algebraic varieties, and then introduce the Lang-Steinberg theorem along with some consequences for algebraic groups.
