Abstract: A knot is the image of an embedding of S^1 into S^3. Curve complexed are simplical complexes which come from two dimensional manifolds. And a Heegaard spliting is a special decomposition of a three dimensional manifold. All of them are important objects in low dimensional topology. In this talk, I will give an introduction to these objects, and I will also introduce some results which combine knots, curve complexes and Heegaard splittings together.
