Abstract: Our main interest is the cohomological theory on algebraic&geometric objects. I will begin by briefly talking about the background and examples of different theories, then I will focus on oriented cohomology theories introduced by Quillen. I will only talk about the naive ideas instead of technical details. I will state the main theorem of Levine-Morel and explain how formal group laws enter here and why it generalizes the classical Grothendieck-Riemann-Roch. Finally I'll discuss the recent progress on Deligne-Mumford stacks.
