Title: k-isoparametric hypersurfaces in Riemannian manifolds

Abstract: In this talk I would like to report a recent joint work with Z.Z. Tang and W.J. Yan about a filtration for isoparametric hypersurfaces in Riemannian manifolds. Firstly we will introduce the notion of k-isoparametric hypersurface in an (n+1)-dimensional Riemannian manifold for k=1,2,...,n. Then we will show some results on k-isoparametric hypersurfaces in CP^n and locally rank one symmetric spaces. A sketch of the proof will be presented.
