(Online Seminar) Gibbons-Hawking Ansatz in Generalized Kahler Geometry
Speaker(s): Jeff Streets (UC Irvine)
Time: 09:30-10:30 May 27, 2020
Venue: Online
ABSTRACT
The classic Gibbons-Hawking ansatz gives an exhaustive classification of complete hyperKahler four-manifolds with a free triholomorphic S^1 action. In this talk we will extend this ansatz to the setting of generalized Kahler geometry. Under mild global hypotheses, we give an exhaustive classification of complete generalized Kahler-Ricci solitons with a free biholomorphic S^1 action. In physical language, we classify complete solutions to the type IIB string equations with N=(2,2) supersymmetry and free biholomorphic S^1 action. This is joint work with Y. Ustinovskiy.
BRIEF BIO
Dr. Jeff Streets is currently a professor at the University of California, Irvine. He obtained his Ph.D. from Duke University under the supervision of Professor Mark Stern in 2007 and then did his postdoctoral studies at Princeton University under the supervision of Professor Gang Tian. His work lies primarily in geometric flows and their application to complex geometry and the geometry of four-manifolds.
