Abstract:

Human gene mapping seeks to identify genes that impact risk for human diseases and traits. In this talk, I will discuss our work to identify genes for type 2 diabetes and diabetes-related traits. I will describe how advances in genetic technology, statistical methods and computational tools, and a commitment to collaboration and data sharing have together resulted in advances in our understanding of the genetic basis of type 2 diabetes.
