In this talk, I will introduce the basic knowledge of open quantum systems and cover the common equations to describe open quantum systems, including the quantum master equation, stochastic Schrodinger equation, Heisenberg-Langevin equation, quantum Fokker-Planck equation, stochastic Liouville–von Neumann equation and hierarchical equations of motion with their advantages and disadvantages. Then I will show some interesting phenomena and summarize the numerical challenges and mathematical analysis problems in these equations. Finally, I will review the existing numerical algorithms and mathematical analysis tools for these equations.
