Abstract: The Teichmüller space is a central object in mathematics because of its connection to so many different fields. It come with many fine structures: Teichmüller space is a Kähler manifold and can be equipped with several metrics that are each natural from a different point of view. However, these notions of geometry have a lot in common. This common denominator is most visible from the point of view of large scale geometry. We examine how the large scale geometry of Teichmüller space can be understood using combinatorial tools such as the curve graph. We also, review some of the natural large scale structures on Teichmüller space: it is a Hierarchically Hyperbolic space and hence has a coarse median structure.
