Abstract:

 In this series of lectures I will review some of the topics found in Chriss and Ginzburg's "Representation Theory and Complex Geometry". In particular I will discuss a geometric construction of the group algebra of the Weyl group as a convolution algebra, and the construction of the Iwahori Hecke algebra as a convolution algebra. Moreover I will discuss the geometric construction and parametrization of representations of these algebras. The main bulk of the material covered will be found in chapters 3,6,7, and 8 of the reference.
