Abstract: 

Langlands-Shahidi method provides a way in defining a list of local and global L-functions and studying their analytic properties using intertwining operators and Eisenstein series. In this mini course we will give a brief introduction to this method. We will cover the main results of the local and global theory, including the theory of intertwining operators, local coefficients, Eisenstein series and their relationship with Langlands-Shahidi L-functions. If time permits, we will also give an approach to the stability of local analytic gamma factors defined by the method.
