Abstract: The operator formalism for the equivariant Gromov-Witten theory of P^1 relative to one point plays an important role in the proof of Virasoro constraints for curves. It was originally deduced by Okounkov and Pandharipande via a long and complicated induction. In this talk, we will give a new and direct approach to the operator formalism based on Johnson's operator formalism for the equivariant Gromov-Witten theory of orbifold P^1.
