Abstract: Since
1980s, Donaldson theory plays an eminent role in the development of
topology of four manifolds. In 1990s, Donaldson and Thomas proposed a
higher dimensional analogue (DT-theory) of Donaldson theory for four
manifolds. In this talk, I will introduce briefly DT-theory of
Calabi-Yau 3-folds, its conjectural relation with GW theory, and the
joint work with Jun Li on the degeneration formula of DT-invariants.
