Abstract: Around 1998, Li-Ruan developed relative Gromov-Witten theory and used degeneration formula to show how Gromov-Witten theories of threefolds transform under flops and extremal transitions. Since then, inspired by Ruan's quantum minimal model conjecture, a lot of work has been done to study the change of Gromov-Witten invariants under surgery. The simplest surgery is blowup along subvarieties. Blowup formula has been established in many situations, but most of them are concerned about Gromov-Witten invariants of low genus. In this talk, we will report an all genus blowup formula for threefolds, which is joint work by Jianxun Hu, Huazhong Ke, Xiaoxia Qi and the speakers.
