Abstract: We obtain a vertex operator approch to the topological vertex by introducing a chiral bosonic CFT within topological defect. The topological vertex corresponds to a correlation function of this CFT. The cyclic symmetry of this correlation function becomes a three leg identity which degenerated formula gives Zhou's Hopf link identity.
