Abstract: Cooperativity is a very common and important phenomena in the bio-physical systems. The description of these phenomena at the single bio-molecular level compel us to consider the stochastic or probability theory which is also supported by the recent single molecule experiments. In this meeting, I would like to elucidate the stochastic theory of cooperativity according to the consideration of the Markov process. For explaining the dynamics, I will provide a brief description about the formulation of the differential-difference equation or master equation by considering the single oligomeric enzyme kinetics on the basis of the basic probability axioms. From this, I will describe how the cooperative phenomena can be incorporated in the Markov model and be described its properties in terms of the probability distribution function. Finally, I will give a non-equilibrium thermodynamic description of cooperativity at the preliminary level.
