摘要: I will talk about some of the major open problem on the transcendence, and algebraic independence of special values in mathematics. Reporting in particular on the recent progress of transcendence theory in positive characteristic which we termed motivic transcendence theory.

报告人简介: 于靖毕业于台湾师范大学数学系，1980年师承塞尔日•兰(Serge Lang) 教授，攻数论，获得美国耶鲁大学数学博士。从1997到1999年，他到台湾清华大学协助设立国科会的国家理论科学研究中心（NCTS），并且担任数学组主任。2002年八月他专任台湾清华大学数学系教授，并且再度担任NCTS数学组主任（从2002年4月到2003年7月）。从2002年8月起，他也是台湾中央研究院数学研究所的合聘研究员。自2006年起担任台湾国家理论科学研究中心主任。现在在台湾大学任教. 2012年7月5日，于靖当选为中央研究院数理科学组院士，被台大数学系学生誉为“台湾欧拉”。
