Title: On the recent proof of the Willmore problem (II)

Abstract: We will present the recent proof of the Willmore problem by F. Marques and A. Neves. We will first give some background about the Willmore problem. Then we will go over the outline of their idea, mainly focusing on the connection between the Min-max method and Willmore problem. Finally we will focus on some key details of the proof, containing: construction of the canonical family; non-triviality of the min-max area of the canonical family.
