"In group representation theory and harmonic analysis, branching problem concerns the decomposition of an irreducible representation of a group $G$ when restricted to a subgroup $H$. Duflo's conjecture aims to treat branching problem in a geometric manner. In this talk, we will especially discuss different aspects around this conjecture and present some results. If time permits, we will also talk about an important but largely unknown case of branching problem."
