We prove that if a compact smooth polarized complex manifold admits in the corresponding Hodge Kähler class a Kähler metric with constant weighted scalar curvature, then this metric minimizes the weighted Mabuchi energy. Our method of proof extends to the weighted setting the approach of Chi Li in the cscK case, via approximations with balanced Fubini-Study metrics.
