Report:
This forum is part of the activities for celebrating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of modern education system in mathematical sciences at Peking University. The aim of the forum is to provide an opportunity for active young mathematicians to exchange ideas about recent progresses in their research, and at the same time also provide an opportunity for active young researchers in the international mathematical community to have a better knowledge about the research environment and working facilities of BICMR and School of Mathematical Sciences of Peking University. This could pave the way for further collaborations and attract young talents to work in Peking University in the future. The forum consists of two parallel sections: pure math section and applied math section, covering all disciplines of mathematics. In the pure math section, 28 talks were presented with each talk lasted 45 minutes. These talks cover the area of differential geometry, algebraic geometry, topology, analysis, number theory, dynamical system, mathematical physics, etc.
In the pure math section, 28 active young mathematicians were invited to give high level talks on their most recent results, Among them 26 speakers came from foreign universities and 2 speakers were from Chinese universities. Besides the speakers, many senior and young researchers also participated in the conference. Many graduate students from Peking University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Tsinghua University also participated the conference. Besides providing opportunities for researchers to exchange ideas and to form potential collaborations, this conference also provided a good chance for young students to learn advanced results and some most recent progress in these fields.
