Abstract: K-stability of Fano varieties is a field in higher dimensional algebraic geometry which has tremendous progress in the last decade. I will introduce different characterizations of K-stability notions and prove they are equivalent. Then I will show how to use K-stability to construct moduli of Fano varieties, a topic once beyond higher dimensional geometers’ imagination. If time permits, I will also discuss results on how to check K-stability for (some) explicit Fano varieties.
