Algebraic K-theory from the Viewpoint of Motivic Homotopy Theory
Speaker(s): Tom Bachmann (LMU Munich)
Time: March 1 - March 12, 2021
Venue: Online
In this six-lecture mini course, we will explore how motivic homotopy theory can be used to give a natural home to many well-known results about algebraic K-theory. In the first part of the course, we will show how to use motivic homotopy theory to construct the motivic filtration and spectral sequence of algebraic K-theory. In the second part we will illustrate how to use this filtration, by translating deep results about motivic cohomology into results about the algebraic K-theory of fields. In the final part we will sketch how to prove some of those deep results about motivic cohomology.
