Pfaffian point processes arise in Random Matrix Theory, random combinatorial structures, representation theory of big groups and statistical physics. We give an accessible introduction to a GOE random matrix. If time permitting, we will discuss a possible relation between Pfaffian and determinantal point processes with an example of singular values for the spiked elliptic ensemble.
