Six Mini-Courses on Mathematical Physics I
Speaker(s): Yanqi Qiu (AMSS), Liping Li (AMSS)
Time: March 17 - March 18, 2018
Venue: Room 78201, Jingchunyuan 78, BICMR
In March and April, we will organize six minicourses in mathematical physics. All students on probability, stochastics processes and mathematical physics are welcome.
Mini-course 1: Some Aspects of the Theory of Determinantal Point Processes
Speaker: Yanqi Qiu (AMSS)
Time: 9:30-11:30, March 17 and 18
1. Introduction to the theory of determinantal point processes
2. Limit theorems for determinantal point processes
3. Quasi-invariant determinantal point processes and conditional measures
4. Number rigidity and completeness of determinantal point processes
Mini-course 2: Introduction to KPZ Universality
Speaker: Liping Li (AMSS)
Time: 14:30-16:30, March 17 and 18
In these lectures, we shall first introduce the physical background of KPZ unviersality class. The Eden model, sticky block model and KPZ equation will be mentioned. Then we shall focus on the Cole-Hopf solution of 1-dimensional KPZ equation and present some discrete models like the corner growth model and directed polymer model, which could converge to the KPZ equation in some sense.
The title of the four lectures are:
1. Growing interfaces and dynamical scaling law
2. KPZ equation and Cole-Hopf solution
3. KPZ equation and discrete models in KPZ universality class
4. KPZ universality and KPZ fixed point
