Abstract: We will review some facts about the geometry of moment maps on Kaehler manifolds. In particular we will show how to define a stability notion on a Kaehler manifold acted on by a compact group in Hamiltonian way. That notion coincides with GIT if the Kaehler form is integral. We will review Kempf-Ness theorem in this general setting, and we will give a proof of a uniqueness theorem for critical points of the squared norm of the moment map.
