Abstract: In this talk, I will motivate and introduce the notion of toric exoflops. A particular focus lies on the effects of this construction on the derived category of coherent sheaves associated to the underlying variety. With a view on mirror symmetry and the study of singularities, I will demonstrate how toric exoflops can produce equivalences between derived categories of distinct Calabi-Yau varieties, and how singularities can be resolved in the sense of Kuznetsov's crepant categorical resolutions.
