Date: May 18—-22, 2015
Venue: Lecture Hall, Jia Yi Bing Building, 82 Jing Chun Yuan, BICMR
Lecturers:
Kentaro Hori (Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe, University of Tokyo)
Yongbin Ruan (University of Michigan and Peking University)
Topics:
1) Supersymmetric gauged linear sigma models (Speaker: Hori)
Abstract: I will give a series of lectures on supersymmetric quantum field theories, with a focus on two-dimensional gauged linear sigma models. Topics to cover includes: supersymmetry and homological algebra, structure of 2d (2,2) supersymmetry, D-branes, relation to mathematical invariants, CY/LG correspondence and its variants, mirror symmetry.
2) LG-model and FJRW-theory (Speaker: Ruan)
Abstract: This series of lectures can be viewed as a mathematical counterpart of physical theory introduced by Kentaro Hori in the same workshop. I will focus on the case of quasi-homogeneous superpotential (or the presence of R-charge). First, we will interpret LG-model as singuarity theory (B-model). Then, we will switch to A-model and introduce Witten equation. A solution to Witten equation naturally leads to so called FJRW-theory.
