Abstract. In the first part of the talk we will introduce some important ideas in statistical physics, including critical phenomenon, phase change, and the method of mean field theory and renormalization flow, leading to an introduction f emergent phenomenon. In the second part of the talk we will introduce some applications by the speaker of such ideas to topaological field theories.
