Abstract: The idea of tensor operators was first introduced by Born and Jordan in order to study the symmetry classification in quantum physics and later was formalized by Michel through the language of group representation theory. In this talk, we would first introduce the theory of tensor operators for simple Lie algebras; then we would talk about their applications in the parabolic induction representation theory for infinite dimensional linear compact simple Lie superalgebras. In particular, we would present the classification for the degenerate modules of exceptional Lie superalgebra of E(5,10). For other exceptional Lie superalgebra cases, the research is in progress.
