Vortex patches are prototypical weak solutions to the two-dimensional incompressible Euler equations. In this lecture, we focus on uniformly rotating vortex patches, which represent relative equilibria of the patch dynamics. Specifically, we discuss results concerning the existence and boundary regularity of non-radial uniformly rotating solutions, as well as corresponding rigidity phenomena. This talk is based on recent joint work with various collaborators.
