Abstract: Recently, the linearized Monge-Amp\`ere equation, which is a degenerated second order elliptic PDE, has played a crucial role in study of fourth order elliptic PDEs from affine and complex geometry. In these two lectures, I will talk about the Krylov-Safonov estimates for the solutions of the linearized Monge-Amp\`ere equation, based on the paper of Caffarelli-Gutierrez. The idea of the proof is quite fundamental in the elliptic/parabolic PDEs theory.
