Abstrtact: This talk will be centered on Paskunas' local proof of the Breuil-Mézard conjecture for GL_2(Qp) and its interaction with the study of locally algebraic vectors in some Banach space representations constructed by Colmez. In the second part of the talk I will explain how to use the theory of (phi,Gamma)-modules to prove the required result on locally algebraic vectors, and (depending on the time left) how the combination of these methods leads to a generalization of a theorem of Colmez.
