Langlands functoriality gives a correspondence between automorphic representations of two different reductive groups. We discuss the question whether this correspondence for cohomological ones can be realized by algebraic cycles. In particular, we explain a joint work with Kartik Prasanna in the case of inner forms of GL(2) over totally real number fields.
