Title: On Generic Representations and Local Langlands Correspondence Conjecture
Speaker: Dr. Baiying Liu (刘柏英), University of Minnesota.
Abstract: Let G be the F-rational points of a split classical group, where F is a non-Archimedean local field of characteristic 0. The generic dual of G, consisting of isomorphic classes of irreducible representations with Whittaker models, plays important roles in both global theory of automorphic forms and local theory of representations of p-adic groups. In this talk, I will review the recent progress on the complete description of the generic dual of G, with applications to the local Langlands functorial lifting and descent, and the local Langlands correspondence conjecture. Then, I will review the progress on further applications of the above results to a conjecture of Gross-Prasad and Rallis, and certain properties of local Arthur parameters.
