Abstract:An important goal in the theory of algebraic or compact Kähler manifolds is to obtain some sort of classification based on the positive, negative and zero directions in the curvature of the canonical bundle. We will describe here a precise classification theorem for the case when the anticanonical bundle is semipositive. We will also discuss related results when the the latter is merely supposed to be nef, using properties of the Harder-Narasimhan filtration of the tangent bundle.
