Position Title: “Jinguang Talent” Program positions

Requirements: Ph.D. recipients in mathematics with an established record of publications in international scientific journals.

Position Description:

1.       Jinguang Chair Professor

This position is for the first-class scholars who have obtained professorships in leading universities in the world. The annual salary is￥800,000 to 1,000,000 RMB (Before Tax) and allowance of 120,000 to 300,000 RMB (including housing subsidies, etc) for full time work.

Top scholars in the world may have better benifit.

2.       Jinguang Associate Professor and Jinguang Assistant Professor

This position is for young mathematicians under 35 years old who are already established or have great potential in mathematics. The annual salary is￥250,000 to 350,000 RMB (Before Tax) and allowance of 60,000 to 150,000 RMB (including housing subsidies, etc) for full time work.

Higher benefit may be possible in special cases.

These positions are supported by the Jinguang Mathematical Foundation which was established in September 2014. It was donated by Asia Pulp & Paper (China) Investment Co., LTD which is in charged by Mr. Zhiyuan Huang who is the chairman and president of Sinar Mas Group. Mr. Huang is a distinguished alumni and honorary doctor of Peking University. The aim of the Jinguang Mathematical Foundation is to provide support for building up Peking University as a first class university in the world, , promote development of mathematics at Peking University , help talent recruitment by Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research（BICMR）and School of Mathematical Sciences ( SMS ) of Peking University.

Introduction of BICMR and SMS :

 Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research (BICMR) locates on the north Shore of Weiming Lake on the campus of Peking University. Sponsored by the national government of China, BICMR is devoted to promoting forefront mathematical research and education, and enhancing scientific exchange and cooperation among Chinese and international mathematicians. 

SMS of Peking University is a leading mathematical school of China with a long tradition. It has excellent working environment and academic atmosphere. SMS is an important base for talents training and mathematical research in China. It enrolls excellent undergraduate and graduate students from all over China every year.
