Let Inv(G) denote the set of involutions in the finite group G and let K Inv(G) be the involution module. We mainly prove: If B◦ is the set of self-dual blocks then...As a consequence we obtain a bound for | Inv(G)| in terms of Cartan invariants and Brauer character degrees which turns out to be sharp.
