Abstract
Since a meeting in 1993 in the Greek island named Spetses, Gunter Malle, Jean Michel and I have been working to treat complex reflection groups as Weyl groups of some still unknown mathematical objects, which should generalize reductive algebraic groups over finite fields. We shall give a survey of the present state of that quest, which looks promising.
