Abstract: The notion of equidistribution appears first in the ergodic theory meaning roughly that an orbit distributes evenly according certain smooth measure. It has various manifestations in in dynamical systems and geometry, etc. In this talk, we shall show how the phenomenon of equidistribution appears in the problem of closing lemma, minimal surfaces, etc and how the dynamical methods and spectral methods yield equidistribution results.

报告人简介：薛金鑫，清华大学数学科学系小米冠名教授，2008年本科毕业于南京大学，2013年获马里兰大学博士学位。薛金鑫教授的研究领域包括动力系统、辛几何、微分几何等，解决天体力学领域长达一百多年的潘勒韦猜测，在顶级数学期刊Acta Mathematica上独立发表论文，在Annals of Math等数学期刊发表多篇论文，得到了腾讯新基石研究员的奖励资助。他的主要工作还包括证明随机版本的标准映射猜想，解决哈密顿动力系统领域的Arnold扩散猜想，以及在平均曲率流领域在Huisken猜想和奇点孤立猜想上的进展等。
