Heat Equation from a Deterministic Dynamics

Abstract: We derive the heat equation for the thermal energy under diffusive space-time scaling from a purely deterministic microscopic dynamics satisfying Newton equations perturbed by an external chaotic force acting like a magnetic field.
Bio-sketch: Stefano Olla is now a professor at the University of Paris-Dauphine (Paris) and at Gran Sasso Institute of Science (L’Aquila-Italy), senior member of the Institut Universitaire de France. His research is in probability with application to non-equilibrium statistical mechanics.
