Abstract: We will overview some recent results on the controllability of partial differential equations with specific emphasis on global approximate controllability. Our focus will be on situations where the control is localized either in the Fourier space, physical space, or both simultaneously. Some of the results presented in this talk will be discussed more extensively during the minicourse that will be delivered at Peking University in the same week.
Speaker: Vahagn Nersesyan is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at NYU Shanghai. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Paris XI and was a Maître de conferences at the University of Paris-Saclay, Versailles until 2021. His main research interests are in the intersection of Partial Differential Equations and Probability.
