Abstract: Koszul duality is an important concept in homological algebra, algebraic geometry, representation theory and non-commutative geometry. In this introductory talk I will first recall some basic notions and results of Koszul algebras, and then discuss some applications to the understanding of Calabi-Yau algebras/manifolds, such as the Batalin-Vilkovisky structure and local mirror symmetry.
