The Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research (BICMR) will be formally inaugurated in the fall and will move to its permanent location. An international conference: Perspectives in Mathematics will be held in connection with this important event. This is meant to be a forum for leaders of the major mathematics institutes around the world and other leading mathematicians to share their vision about mathematics and to discuss possibilities of international collaboration.
