Symplectic Geometry and Physics
Speaker(s): Scientific committee
Time: May 12 - May 16, 2009
Venue: Room 1218 at BICMR, Peking University, Beijing
This meeting will be the first of planned annual meetings on Symplectic geometry and related topics. These will be a joint effort by the Beijing international Center for Mathematical Research, the Chern Institute at Nankai University and the ChangJiang center at Sichun University. Hopefully, this meeting will provide a good chance for experts from both mathematics and physics to exchange their ideas about the recent progress in symplectic geometry, mathematical physics and related topics. The topics involve supersymmetry, topological field theory, closed string, open string and their mathematical counterparts: the Gromov-Witten theory, the Floer cohomology, Lagrangian intersection theory, singularity theory and mirror symmetry.
The BICMR is located in Peking University in Beijing. One of its aims is to provide an ideal place for scientific and mathematical exchanges. Peking University is one of the most famous universities in China. It has excellent students and faculty from China. Beijing is a famous ancient city in China and the capital of China. It is rich in history and cultural. It continues to add new surprises. In addition to the ancience, we hope that this meeting also provides a chance for the participants to see and enjoy old Beijing as well as new one after the 29th Olympic Games.
