ABSTRACT 

Manin’s Conjecture predicts the asymptotic formula for the counting function of rational points on Fano varieties after removing the contribution from the exceptional set. In this talk I will talk about recent developments on our understanding of the exceptional sets using higher dimensional algebraic geometry such as the minimal model program and BAB conjecture. The lectures is based on joint work with Brian Lehmann and Akash Sengupta.
