Abstract:
It turns out many properties of spherically symmetric spacetimes can be recovered under the weaker assumptions of warped product splitting. We discuss some of these consequences focussing on the proof of a generalized Birkhoff's theorem. This talk is based on joint work with An Xinliang (U. Toronto).
